PANAKAM

Panakam is usually prepared on the day of Rama Navami along with Vada Paruppu. It is a cooler and a perfect drink for summer.It can be easily prepared with the available ingredients and has lot of health benefits.

Panakam


Ingredients
Jaggery: 1/4 cup
Water: 1 cup
Lemon: juice of half lemon
Dry ginger powder(sukku podi):/14 tsp
Cardomom crushed: 2
Pepper powder: 1/4 tsp (optional)

Procedure
1) Powder the jaggery and mix it with water
2) Add ginger powder, crushed cardomom and allow to stand for around 15 - 30 minutes
3) Filter this and add lemon juice
4) Dilute with 1/8 cup of water if required

    1. Mahi, Sukku podi adds a nice flavor and also good for health. However I remember my mom preparing it without sukku podi specially for me as I did not like it when I was a kid. I am sure it will taste great without that as well

      There is no need to boil.just allow to stand for 30 min
