GOBI 65 RESTAURANT STYLE

Ever since Jay posted it, I had been making this almost every week.I had tried various recipes for Gobi 65 before and this is the one that my whole family loved it.

Gobi65

Recipe Source: Tasty Apetite

Ingredients:
Cauliflower: 1 medium
All purpose flour/Maida: 1 cup
Corn flour: 3/4 cup
Ginger paste: 1.5 tsp
Red chilly powder: 1 tsp
Garam masala powder: 1/4 tsp
Pepper powder (white preferable): 1/2 tsp
Soya sauce: 2 tsp
Vinegar: 1/2 tsp
Salt: 1.5 tsp
Red food color: a pinch (optional)
Oil: to fry

Procedure:
Step1:
Wash and cut the cauliflower into medium sized florets

Step2:
Mix maida, all purpose flour, salt, soya sauce, chilly powder, masala powder, pepper powder, ginger paste, vinegar together along with water to a thick batter. I added approximately 1 cup + 1 tablespoon of water.

Step3:
Add the florets and mix well and allow to marinate for 30 minutes. Jay had mentioned 2 hrs but mostly I end up making this in 30 minutes

Step4:
Heat oil in a pan.and fry the florets in medium flame to golden color

Notes:
Since we do not add garlic I omitted it.Otherwise replace 1.5 tsp of ginger paste with 1.5 of ginger garlic paste
Add food color only if preparing for parties/special occasion
Vinegar can be replace with lime juice as well
This does not require the cauliflower to be boiled before frying. Just fry in medium flame for around 5 minutes and the vegetable gets cooked well.
