This is a delicious evening snack which can also be served as breakfast.The batter can be prepared and refrigerated the previous night itself.Goes well with coconut chutney.
Ingredients
Raw Rice: 1 cup
Boiled Rice: 1 cup
Coconut: 1 cup
Red chilli: 4
Pepper: 3 tsp
Salt: to taste
For seasoning
Oil: 3 tablespoon
Mustard seeds: 1 tsp
Urad dhal: 1 tsp
Channa dhal: 1 tsp
Curry leaves: 6
Procedure:
Step1:
Soak rice for 2 hrs
Step2:
Grind it to a coarse mix with little water. Add grated coconut, Red chilly, salt and pepper and grind it well
Step3:
Heat oil in a pan and add mustard seeds. Once it starts spluttering add, urad dhal,hing, channa dhal & curry leaves
Step4:
Add the rice paste and cook well until it becomes thick
Step5:
Once it cools down, shape them into kozhukattai and steam cook for 10 - 15 minutes (can be done with idli plates)
