As part of Maitri chain Nancy from Kitchen Gypsies has sent me a pack of CousCous.Maitri is a friendship chain started by Priya and Reshmi. I used half a cup to make salad.I prepared sweet couscous with the remaining. This recipe is basically a replica of sweet aval/poha that we used to make with aval, milk and coconut.This makes a healthy after school snack for kids and is almost instantaneous to prepare
Ingredients
Couscous: 1/2 cup
Milk: 1.5 cups
Sugar: 3 tablespoon
Grated coconut:1/2 cup
Cardomom powder: 1/2 tsp
Cashewnuts, rasinins, sliced almonds: as desired
Procedure:
Step1:
Mix couscous and hot milk and leave it covered in a bowl for 15 min
Step2:
Add sugar, coconut and cardomom powder and mix well
Step3:
Garnish with cashews fried in ghee, raisins and sliced almonds
