MAALADU

This is a very easy and healthy recipe.Maaladu has always a special place south indian sweets made with simple ingredients and requires less cooking
I learnt this recipe from my mother when I was 10 years old and made it myself in our new Sumeet mixie.

Maaladu

Ingredients
Fried gram (odachakadala) : 1 cup
Sugar: 1 cup
Cardomom: 2
Ghee: 1/2 cup
Cashewnuts: 1 tablespoon (optional)

Procedure:
Step1:
Powder sugar, fried gram and cardomom together
Note: My MIL used to dry roast the fried gram and then powder it.This will give a wonderful flavour.

Step2:
Heat the ghee in a pan and fry the cashews. Then add the powder and fry for 1 minute (This is just to warm up the mixture)

Step3:
Shape them to laddus.
