Serves: 25 biscuits
Ingredients
All purpose flour/maida - 1 cup
Unsalted butter - 1 stick
Baking powder - 1/4 tsp
Sugar - 1/2 cup
Rava/Suji (fine variety) - 1/4 cup
Sweeted dessicated coconut - 1 cup
Cardomom - 5 crushed
Procedure:
Step 1:
Slightly toast the cococnut for 2 minutes
Step2:
Mix butter and sugar and beat it to a smooth paste
Step3:
Add flour, rava,coconut,crushed cardomamom, baking powder and mix well.
Step4:
Knead the dough with hand for 4-5 minutes such that it resembles chappathi dough
Step5:
Cover it with a plastic wrap and refrigerate for 30 minutes
Step6:
Preheat the oven to 325 F
Step7:
Make small balls and press them on a cookie sheet(makes around 25 balls). keep them 1 " apart
Step8:
Bake in the oven for 20 minutes (Until the sides become golden brown)
Step9:
Cool it on a wire rack for 5 minutes and serve

ReplyDeleteFor donuts, u can replace egg by either yogurt or milk. For each egg add about 2-3 tbsp of milk. Don't replace by applesauce or any other fruit product, as it may make the donuts heavier.
